During my tenure at Dolma, I was deeply involved in private equity functions across portfolios, as well as in the bond issuance initiative. These roles provided incredible opportunities to engage closely with businesses, devise value-adding strategies, navigate complexities encountered during innovating and understand the complexities of raising capital. The supportive team environment at Dolma encouraged initiative and fostered teamwork. Working at the forefront of finance in Nepal, innovating financial products to benefit the country, its people, and the environment, was exceptionally fulfilling. Shashwat is an impact investment professional focused on fund of funds investments and co-investments in emerging markets. Shashwat began his career at PwC in risk advisory, after which he joined Dolma Impact Fund, investing in the development of Nepal’s private sector. Post Dolma, Shashwat joined British International Investment (BII) after completing his MBA from Cornell University. At BII, Shashwat has invested into generalist and sector focused private equity funds and made co-investments in Asia and Africa, investing in climate, gender and inclusion strategies, amongst other impactful strategies. Currently, Shashwat focuses on investing in Agriculture, Circular Economy, Forestry and Carbon. Shashwat is also a qualified Chartered Management Accountant.

Sandeep is the Founder and ESG Director at Sustainability Solutions, Nepal’s leading ESG and sustainable business advisory firm. He provides strategic direction to clients including banks, private equity funds, hydropower projects, and SMEs, aiming to transform their businesses towards sustainability. He offers ESG workshops to students and youths to create sustainability leaders. Sandeep collaborates with international ESG firms and provides advisory services globally. He contributed to the “Investing with Integrity II” report by Transparency International UK. As a Social Development Consultant at World Bank, Sandeep played a key role in Nepal’s E&S Overview Assessment and is involved in establishing an E&S Learning Center at Kathmandu University. He oversees social risk management in agriculture, education, and healthcare projects.

Sandeep is faculty at Kathmandu University, Ace International Business School, and Kathmandu College of Management. His curriculum was the first to integrate ESG in a university course and teaches various sustainability-related subjects. He has judged competitions like the ESG Investing Awards and the Hult Prize. He is a council member at the Hydropower Sustainability Council and is certified Internal Assessor in Hydropower Sustainability Standards. He has certified training in IFRS Sustainability Disclosure Standards and World Bank E&S Specialist training.

One of the reasons I joined Dolma was to immerse myself in the Private Equity ecosystem of Nepal. My experience with the fund provided me invaluable opportunities to interact with entrepreneurs, industry leaders, and international investors, allowing me to gain a holistic perspective on the Nepalese investment landscape. I deeply cherish my tenure with Dolma and the relationships I formed during my engagement.

Prakash has excelled in various international roles since leaving Dolma. As the Environment & Social (E&S) Director (International position) for Nepal Water and Energy Development Company, developing 216 MW Hydroelectric Project in Trishuli River, he leads the E&S team to ensure compliance with international standards and pioneered the Indigenous People Plan (IPP) in Nepal, meeting the requirements of Lenders involved such as IFC, ADB, FMO, AIIB, KEXIM, BII, OPEC Fund etc. Previously, he served as E&S Team Leader for the Moragolla Hydropower Project in Sri Lanka, where he managed the implementation of environmental and social safeguards as per ADB’s SPS 2009 requirements. As an Environmental Safeguard Specialist at the World Bank’s Nepal Office, Prakash provided technical expertise for the environmental aspects of World Bank projects, aiding in and supporting clients in the preparation of essential frameworks and E&S documents and plans. Additionally, he led external E&S compliance monitoring for the Lower Kopili Hydroelectric Project (Lender’s Independent E&S Advisors) in Assam, India, demonstrating his extensive expertise in environmental and social governance in major international projects.
