Job Description

Position – Investment Manager

Location – Kathmandu, Nepal

 

Dolma Advisors Pvt. Ltd. (DAPL) is an investment advisory and private sector consulting company based in Nepal. DAPL believes in the power of the private sector to generate sustainable prosperity. DAPL advises international investors bringing Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) into Nepal as well as local organizations wishing to stimulate the private sector and enhance governance and regulations. DAPL clients include the fund managers of Dolma Impact Fund I & II (AUM  USD 100MN+), the first international private equity fund dedicated to Nepal.

Under the overall supervision of Investment Director, the Investment Manager will perform the following duties:

 

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Manage investment transactions to originate, structure, close, asset manage and exit portfolio investments.
  • Manage Investment Analysts and stakeholders.
  • Incorporate impact at the core of the investment process, and ensure that impact targets are defined at the origination stage of an investment, and tracked throughout its lifecycle.
  • Prepare and present potential investments, follow-on and exit to investment committee  and report on progress of existing investments.
  • Plan trainings and mentoring programmes for Investment Analysts to ensure best practice in origination, due diligence, structuring and asset management.
  • Develop partnerships that benefit both the local business ecosystem in Nepal and DIF’s portfolio companies.
  • Participate in the continual fundraising process, by presenting to investors and fulfilling due diligence requirements. Also help to structure innovative new fundraising strategies and impact investment models.
  • Regular Portfolio Site Visits 
  • Monitoring and reporting of portfolio post investments
  • Lead in-house research and analysis in one of the core investment sectors

 

 

Experience and Qualifications

  • The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 5+ years of transaction experience gained from investment banking, private equity or consulting as well as experience or strong interest in frontier markets & SMEs.
  • Successful track record of locating, structuring, financing and managing deals.
  • Understanding of investment landscape and development priorities in Nepal
  • FDI related transactions and understanding of the applicable regulations
  • Excellent commercial negotiation and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively delegate and to manage.
  • Strong experience in corporate finance, and financial modelling of equity investments
  • MBA and/or CFA/CA qualification will be considered a plus.
