Position :          Investment Associate (Bond)

 

 

1. Background:

Dolma seeks to recruit an Investment Associate (Bond) to support our initiatives in the hydropower sector. The selected candidate will play a pivotal role in engaging with regulatory bodies and government institutions, managing multiple workstreams, and performing quantitative financial analyses with a focus on debt-related financial instruments, particularly in the context of hydropower projects and ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) considerations. The role also involves the operational management of grants.

 

2. Objectives:

The primary objective of the Investment Associate (Bond) is to develop robust financial models, facilitate effective communication and consensus-building with regulatory entities, oversee various project workstreams, and manage the administrative aspects of grants. The associate will leverage their understanding of the hydropower sector and debt financing to support the organisation's strategic goals.

 

3. Scope of Work:

Engagement and Consensus-Building:

  • Maintain regular communication with regulatory bodies and government institutions.
  • Pitch initiatives to relevant stakeholders and build consensus around these initiatives.
  • Develop and present compelling cases for regulatory and governmental support.

 

Project Management:

  • Handle multiple workstreams simultaneously, ensuring smooth project execution.
  • Manage stakeholders from diverse backgrounds and coordinate their contributions effectively.
  • Ensure timely completion of project milestones and deliverables.

 

Quantitative Analysis and Financial Modelling:

  • Conduct in-depth quantitative analyses to understand bond financing mechanisms.
  • Develop financial models that facilitate scenario analysis, including switches and alternative scenarios.
  • Utilize advanced Excel skills to create and maintain these financial models.

 

Grant Management:

  • Oversee the operational and administrative aspects of grant management.
  • Ensure compliance with grant requirements and timely reporting to funders.
  • Manage the budget and financial aspects of the grant to ensure effective utilization of funds.

 

4. Deliverables:

  • Regular reports and presentations to regulatory bodies and government institutions.
  • Detailed financial models and scenario analyses.
  • Comprehensive project plans and status reports.
  • Grant management documentation, including budgets, financial reports, and compliance records.

 

5. Qualifications and Experience:

Essential:

  • Undergraduate in business administration, engineering, or environmental Studies.
  • Master’s degree is desirable.
  • Professional degree like CA or CFA is a plus.
  • General understanding of the hydropower sector from a financial perspective.
  • Proficiency in Excel for financial modeling and analysis.
  • Ability to present effectively and conduct meetings with diverse stakeholders.
  • Knowledge of debt-related financial instruments and relevant considerations.

 

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of ESG considerations in the hydropower sector.
  • Previous experience in a similar role within the financial sector or energy sector.
  • Strong project management skills and experience in managing multiple workstreams.
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus and engage effectively with regulatory bodies.
