Company Description

Solar Farm Pvt. Ltd (Solarfarm), registered in September 2016, plans to set up 5 MW [6MW - DC] on-grid Solar PV power plant in Belchautara, Shuklagandai in Tanahun district of Gandaki Province. The company is established and developed by locals. The project has completed all designs major ground level civil works under Construction License for Generation. Now Solarfarm is embarking into full scale construction period. All required contract and licenses up to this level are complete.


Position Overview

SolarFarm is currently seeking an experienced Project Manager who manages and directs staff management in project management, sales, engineering/construction and administration. The role is responsible for the overall direction, coordination and evaluation of direct reports and for carrying out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws.


Duties and Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic project management leadership in the projects
  • Responsible for the overall management of the project scope, schedule and cost
  • Accountable for key project decision making as authorized by the Board.
  • Manages a collaborative project team to ensure each key functional project discipline is meeting the planned project scope, schedule and cost.
  • Lead overall project coaching, conflict resolution, facilitation, motivation and negotiation
  • Responsible for leading project meetings
  • Point person for contract negotiation and management
  • Accountable to develop, update and manage the project plan
  • Coordinate communication and provides status updates to stakeholders as required
  • Assess project risk and proactively develop mitigation plans
  • Proactively manages project requests for information and action items
  • Work collaboratively with the Project Controls team (EPC) to ensure project schedules and costs are managed and tracking to plan
  • Responsible for negotiating and executing contracts and services agreements with the government officials (NEA, DoED, ERC, and Banks)
  • Responsible for leading projects through all internal and external processes
  • Ensure availability or seeks out adequate resources to support the project
  • Proficient in analyzing problems, identifying alternative solutions, project consequences of proposed actions and implement recommendations to support project scope, schedule and cost objectives
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work
  • Demonstrates excellent leadership, verbal/written communications, time management, interpersonal and organizational skills
  • Achieves results by problem solving, setting priorities and organization
  • Confers with the CEO and other administrative personnel to review achievements and discuss required changes in goals or objectives resulting from current status and conditions.
  • Oversees key projects, processes and performance reports, data and analysis.
  • Approve or disapprove or correct bills and payment certificates submitted by the contractor with due recommendations by the consultant.
  • Coordinate, designate and arrange salary and cost to the project staff. Track or approve Muster Rolls.
  • Supervise Environment Social Governance and implement, monitor, and review Environmental and Social requirements of the project.
  • Visit manufacturing industries for procurement purpose.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Minimum Bachelor’s Degree or Professional Degree in relevant field required.
  • 5+ years of Utility Construction Project management experience is a must.
  • Utility-scale Solar/Hydro engineering experience is preferred
  • Hands-on-knowledge and experience of Contracts Management and Financial Control
  • Demonstrate the ability to be organized, control and meet the project milestones by setting priorities
  • Proven experience in IT applications (MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Project)
  • Must be able to travel to project sites frequently

Indicative tenure

  • 2 years. After successful completion of probation period of six months. 

Indicative emoluments

  • Package is negotiable. Commensurate with qualification and experience
